Business grad makes world鈥檚 best vermouth

Michela Palmer’s Esquimalt Vermouth & Aperitifs has gained international acclaim by keeping its ingredients and approach local.

Proving that you can take the vermouth out Esquimalt, but you can’t take the Esquimalt out of vermouth, Gustavson School of Business grad Michela Palmer, BCom ’11, and her husband relocated their to Nanaimo in 2022.

But have no fear, they’ve kept their business’s name and are still making the same award-winning, internationally renowned fortified wines that they’ve become famous for.

Michela talks about lessons learned from her studies at UVic as well as the importance of keeping things local and sustainable.
