BEC - water reconnection

December 16, 2025

Business & Economics Building (Building #217)

Facilities Management and Aral Construction are completing repairs to the incoming water piping to the building. The flushing procedure may cause turbidity in the pipes, lifting old deposits and sediments. Water is safe for use, and these changes are aesthetic and do not pose a health hazard. We apologize for any concerns or inconvenience this may cause and hope any noted changes clear up quickly with use.

What You May Observe:

• Air in Lines: Water may appear milky or bubbly because of trapped air; this will clear with time and use.
• Cloudy or Discolored Water: Water may appear brown, or yellowish, due to naturally occurring mineral deposits (iron and manganese) being disturbed during flushing.
• Taste or Odor Changes: Slight metallic or earthy taste may occur temporarily.
• Sediment in Water: Small particles may be visible, especially after periods of inactivity.
