Johanna Viitanen, D.Sc. (Tech.), is as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Aalto University, Finland. Her research areas encompass human-computer interaction (HCI) and health informatics. Viitanen leads the Human-Centred Health Informatics (HCHI) research group, focusing on the following research topics: Usability of health information systems; User experiences of health and social care workers; Patient experience; Usability in IT system procurement. Additionally, her teaching duties include courses such as “Human-Computer Interaction” and “Collaborative Evaluation of Interactive Systems,” along with supervising PhD, master's, and bachelor's theses.
