Professional certification & accreditation
The Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program is accredited by the (CACEP).
The CACEP outlines the required course content, practicum and supervision experiences that counsellor education programs must provide to students in order to meet the standards of a professionally trained counsellor, as approved by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Counselling programs are accredited, not individual students.
Once completed, your degree will meet the required standards for CACEP accreditation and you will be fast-tracked through the certification procedure after graduation.
Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCC)
Counselling psychology graduates are eligible and qualified for certification with the CCPA. Learn more about the .
Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC)
Our MA program offers most of the courses required by the (BCACC) for enrollment as a registered clinical counselor (RCC), except for family counselling.
In the event that we can offer a family counselling elective course, then the registration requirements to become an RCC will be offered within the program.
