ʔukłaasiš yacuusaƛ ʔuḥʔiš ƛicnitaksup.  My name is Patti Campbell, I am from the Ahousaht First Nation.  I am the administrative assistant in the Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement.  I will be the first person you see upon entering our beautiful space as receptionist and will be providing administrative assistance to the IACE/FPH & Elder’s Voices program.

Biography

ʔukłaasiš yacuusaƛ ʔuḥʔiš ƛicnitaksup. My name is Patti Campbell. I am nuu-chah-nulth from the Ahousaht First Nation and have ties to Hesquiaht and Huu-ay-aht First Nations.  My husband and I have three children, and we have been living in 樱花影视 since 2018.

I am currently doing a fulltime online certificate program for Indigenous Language Fluency through North Island College and have been actively learning my home language since April 2025 & love teaching it to my children and helping my classmates along the way.  In my spare time, I love crocheting and beading and attending cultural dance practices when I can.

I’ve also got an Associate of Arts degree in General Arts from Camosun College, Residential Carpentry certification from Discovery Community College, and have taken shorter computer coding courses from First Nations Technology Council.

I’ve worked in many positions throughout my career – from youth worker to coffee server to construction labourer and have always found my way back to the comfort of a welcoming office space. I’ve spent much of the last few years working remotely from home for my nation.  I am very excited to branch out and be in the IACE space.  I look forward to meeting everyone and experiencing the UVic community life!
