Leif completed his B.A. with a concentration in Political Science and an Indigenous Studies Certificate at Thompson Rivers University in 2015. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the 樱花影视, where he also completed a Graduate Certificate in Evaluation in 2024.
His research focuses on the public fiscal implications of British Columbia’s transition to a post-carbon economy. This includes how government revenues associated with carbon emissions, such as carbon tax proceeds, natural resource royalties, and BC Hydro dividends, have evolved from 1990-present.
Leif has professional experience in community organizing through his work with a students’ union, as well as in the university sector, municipal and provincial government. His work spans evaluation, policy analysis, and cross-sectoral collaboration. He is also a 2025–26 Action Canada Fellow, contributing to a national policy project on community energy generation and resilience.
In his free time, Leif enjoys working on his off-grid cabin near Lillooet, including having recently designed and installed an 8000W off grid solar system.
