ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT:
Although partially ordered sets (posets) occur quite frequently, in various settings, we know disproportionately little about these structures. On the other hand, much of this scant knowledge may be expressed as rather elegant theorems.
In this talk, I will present a sample of these results and indicate their significant combinatorial value. The talk will also describe several open problems and unexplored avenues in the theory of posets.
Refreshments will be served at 3:00 p.m.
