About Mohsen

Dr. Akbari is the director of the Laboratory for Innovations In Microengineering (LiME), which focuses on developing innovative technologies that address health equity.

LiME’s research is focused on 3 key areas:

  1. Biofabrication of engineered tissues: developing innovative techniques to create functional tissue substitutes for regenerative medicine.
  2. Biomimetic tissue models: utilizing microengineering to construct realistic tissue models for disease modeling and drug discovery.
  3. Advanced drug delivery systems: designing targeted drug delivery systems for improved therapeutic outcomes.

LiME offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where students can gain hands-on experience designing and developing microscale platforms, tissue engineering, polymer synthesis and cancer research. We aim to create a unique interdisciplinary program that significantly impacts human health and well-being.
