About Andrew

Dr. Rowe completed a BEng in mechanical engineering at the Royal Military College and subsequently served as an engineering officer in the Canadian Navy. He is active in energy system analysis, caloric cycles, electrification, hydrogen systems, thermal design and energy storage.

Recent research activities use optimal capacity expansion and production cost modeling to assess impacts of demand evolutions and technology developments on energy system decarbonization. Dr. Rowe is a member of the editorial board for Cryogenics, the Electrochemical Society and the advisory board of the Energy Modeling Hub (EMH).

Dr. Rowe is a registered professional engineer in the province of British Columbia. He has trained numerous graduate students, published over 100 peer reviewed papers and is an inventor on 4 patents. He is currently the acting director of the Institute for Integrated Energy Systems.
