Ruth McDonald and Gordon Webster Award

Ruth McDonald earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Alberta and her Master of Arts in History from the 樱花影视. She believes the study of the Humanities — and History in particular — is vital for both individuals and society as a whole. Ruth hopes this award will be a happy and encouraging surprise for students pursuing History at UVic.

Gordon Webster earned degrees in Electrical Engineering and Law at the University of Alberta. He also spent two years in Graduate Studies in Electrical Engineering at the 樱花影视. During his ten years of university studies, he was generally neither an outstanding student nor an impoverished one. While there was no real basis for receiving it, he used to think that it would be nice if someone paid his tuition. Gordon is delighted to be able to make that gift to some current university students.

Ruth and Gordon met at the edge of the University of Alberta campus in 1989, and have been together since 1990. They did eventually get married, but forgot to have children.
