The Digital Media Officer (DMO) looks after the Faculty of Education external communications including the website, social media, newsletters and on-campus TV screens. SharePoint Online is a Microsoft 365 cloud-based service for online collaboration and information sharing. SharePoint Online is the replacement for Connect (SharePoint 2013). With SharePoint Online, you can organize and share documents, collaborate on projects with your team and bring all of your department's important information into one place with Microsoft Teams integration.

Research
Research is an integral part of the work carried out by faculty members in the Faculty of Education and grants are the best way to fund said research. The Research & Grants Facilitator, also known as a Faculty Grant Officer campus-wide, is there to help you in securing such funding. You can reach out to them for resources related to various funding opportunities, review of draft application materials, and help with the internal submission process via RAIS.

Supports research into any topic related to education.

Supports research on education carried out in a partnership format.

Internal research awards for Education Faculty members:
The Faculty of Education Travel Grant supports faculty members in our faculty to travel to conferences and/or research events to enhance their research projects.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be tenure-track or tenured faculty
- Grants of up to $1000 (domestic)
- Grants of up to $1250 (international)
Important dates:
Applications may be submitted at any time; however, funds will be dispensed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants are eligible to apply once per academic year, July 1- June 30. Events must be completed within one year of the award.

Please submit completed application form to the Faculty of Education Associate Dean Graduate Programs and Research at edadgr@uvic.ca.

Eligibility:
- Grants of up to $1000 are available to faculty members in the Faculty of Education at UVic.
- Applicants must demonstrate at least one of the following forms of engagement: cross-unit (e.g., EPLS and IED), cross-faculty and/or external community engagement.
- Priority will be given to requests for matching funds for external funding competitions that require or expect these contributions, such as SSHRC Connection Grants and SSHRC Partnership-stream Grants.
Important dates: Applications may be submitted at any time; however, funds will be dispensed on a first-come first-served basis. Applicants are eligible to apply once per academic year: 1 July to 30 June. Events/activities must be completed within one year of the award date.

Awards
Our faculty & staff are phenomenal humans who deserve recognition for the good work they do. The following Faculty of Education awards are presented to faculty & staff at the end of each academic year:
The Diversity in Education Award is given annually to an individual student, staff, or faculty member, or to a team or group within the Faculty of Education who demonstrates leadership in diversity and inclusion beyond the responsibilities of their role. The award will consist of a cash award of $500.00 for an individual award recipient or shared by a team award recipient.

This annual award has been established to recognize excellence in research for both emerging and established scholars, and it acknowledges the importance of research informing teaching and vice versa. Nominations for emerging and established scholars will be received in alternating years.
There are also several Faculty of Education student awards presented each year.
