Transfer & visiting applicants
Transfer applicants
We accept a limited number of transfer students each year. If you would like to transfer, you will need to complete a minimum of 2 years of legal education at UVic to obtain our Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
If you're from a non-Canadian common law school, you must have at least a B+ average, and not be required to complete a substantial number of first-year courses. Usually transfer applicants will have completed 2 full years of study in a common law program before we’ll consider your application.
If you are offered admission as a transfer student, you would have to complete a minimum of 2 full years (29.0 units) at our faculty in order to receive our JD.
