202601 Spring Term TA hiring

The School of Nursing in the Faculty of Health has TA positions open for two courses for the Fall Term. Priority will first be given to graduate students enrolled in the department’s graduate program, in accordance with Appendix B Letter of Understanding #TA 1.
Relevant experience with the subject area is required. Experience with online/distance education, and the Brightspace platform is an asset for online courses. Hours will be approximately 510 hours per week.
Eligibility
Open to Master’s and PhD students:
NURS341 - Professional Practice IV: Nursing Inquiry
- Delivery: in person at Gordon Head Campus (main UVic campus)
- Day & time: Thursdays from 2:30-5:20pm
- Instructor: Dr. Anastasia Mallidou
NURS360 - Professional Practice VI: Nursing Research
- Delivery: in person at Gordon Head Campus (main UVic campus)
- Day & time: Mondays from 2:30-5:20pm
- Instructor: Dr. Christine Ou
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- monitoring and responding to course discussion forums
- holding virtual or in person office hours for student consultations
- responding to student inquiries via email or in person
- facilitating online labs and relevant learning activities
- helping to prepare and grade assignments
- potentially preparing and delivering a lecture in the course
- grading & invigilating exams, and monitoring make-up exams
Important dates
- Appointments run from January 1st - April 30, 2026
- Classes begin January 5, 2026
- Classes end April 2, 2026
- Reading break is from February 16-20, 2026
