Advanced practice leadership
The Master of Nursing in Advanced Practice Leadership (APL) program prepares nurses for a dual career focus in advanced clinical practice and nursing leadership. You will gain practical experience in many settings, including acute care, community, long-term, government and primary care.
Graduates of the Advanced Practice Leadership program will:
- understand the complexity of nursing leadership and advanced nursing practice in different contexts
- demonstrate values, ethics and leadership guided by social justice
- communicate the impact of nursing leadership on client care, professional nursing, health and the health care system
- understand the processes of program development, implementation and evaluation
Practicums let you put theory into practice and gain a sense of the real-world responsibilities you’ll face after graduation.
The APL stream includes 1 required practice course, with the recommended option to take a second one depending on your educational and professional goals.
The course-based Master of Nursing includes 16.5 units of coursework:
