Nurse educator
The Master of Nursing degree in the Advanced Practice Nursing, Nurse Educator (NUED) graduate program is for registered nurses with a passion for education who want to make an impact on the nursing profession.
The program will give you the skills to influence nursing practice in both healthcare delivery and academic settings. Classes are practice-oriented and theory-based, preparing you for nurse educator roles in a variety of settings.
Graduates of the Nurse Educator program will:
- develop collaborative relationships among students, teachers and clients across academic and healthcare settings
- critically examine how theory informs advanced nursing education practice and develop strategies to deliver, evaluate and assess teaching and learning
- provide leadership in curriculum, instruction and evaluation
Practicums let you put theory into practice and gain a sense of the real-world responsibilities you’ll face after graduation.
The NUED stream includes 2 required practice courses, with the recommended option to take a second one depending on your educational and professional goals.
Placements may include:
- acute care, community or residential clinical settings
- undergraduate nursing, practical nursing or health care attendant programs
- nursing organizations with education mandates
