Non-degree studies
If you're interested in taking nursing graduate courses for credit without working towards a degree, you can apply for non-degree studies. Students approved for admission can enroll in up to 2 NURS foundational courses before applying to a full graduate program.
Your chosen courses must be specified on the application for non-degree graduate studies. Applications can be submitted to the Graduate 樱花影视 and Records Office.
Transfer credit for completed courses may be applied if you are admitted to a future Master of Nursing intake within 10 years. Courses must have been completed with a final grade of 'B' or above.
Please note: permission to take nursing courses as a non-degree graduate student is not an admission offer to any School of Nursing or Faculty of Health graduate program, nor does it facilitate admission or unduly advantage applicants.

Begin your online application using My UVic Application. You can start your application by creating a new profile or using an existing one.
For admission to non-degree studies in nursing, you must have the following:
- a completed baccalaureate in nursing that is equivalent to the degree offered by the 樱花影视
- applicants must have at least a B+ (77%) average calculated over the last two years (or equivalent of 30.0 UVic units) of their degree
- registration as a practicing nurse with the regulatory body for the jurisdiction where you live
- we recommend that you have at least two years of full-time nursing practice in your chosen area of concentration
The following are not used in the calculation of the admission grade point average:
- practica
- non-graded courses
- credit based on life experiences
- credit earned at institutions not recognized by the university
Required documents
You will need to include the following documents with your application:
- unofficial transcripts of all previous degrees and coursework
- you must provide updated transcripts, even if you provided them in a previous application year
- a current resume or CV
- two assessment reports (references)—one of which must be an academic reference, and the other a professional or academic reference
- your references will receive an automated email with instructions on submitting their assessments
- please notify your references in advance to confirm their willingness to provide an assessment report
- references have the option of submitting a letter of reference in addition to the assessment form sent by the online application system
